Cookies on Slaf
Short version:
We only use what's required for you to log in. No tracking cookies. No ad cookies. Nothing creepy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a site. They can be used for everything from keeping you logged in to tracking you across the entire internet. We only do the first one.
Cookies we use
Slaf only uses necessary cookies for the service to function:
auth-token
your login session (httpOnly, secure, disappears when you log out)
user-info
your profile data in the browser (used to show your name and picture without asking the server every time)
Both are necessary for Slaf to work. Without them you can't log in.
Cookies we DON'T use
- ●tracking cookies
- ●advertising cookies
- ●third-party analytics tools (Google Analytics and similar)
- ●social plug-ins from Facebook, Twitter or similar
- ●fingerprinting or other hidden tracking techniques
What we don't have, we can't leak.
GDPR and ePrivacy
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent — they are technically required for the service to function.
Since we only use necessary cookies, no cookie banner is shown. That's not a loophole — that's how the rules actually work when you don't track people.
We process all data in accordance with GDPR. More about that is in our privacy policy. Read our privacy policy
Your rights and control
You always have the right to:
- ●see which cookies exist via your browser settings
- ●delete cookies at any time — you will then be logged out of Slaf
- ●block cookies in your browser — Slaf does require the necessary ones to function
Want to delete everything? Delete your account and all cookies go with it.
Storage and expiry
- ●auth-token: valid for 30 days, or until you log out
- ●user-info: valid for 30 days, updated on login
Changes
If we start using more cookies — which we don't plan to — we'll update this page and let you know.
No hidden changes.
Questions?
If you have questions about how we handle cookies or your data, get in touch.
We respond for real.
Summary
We use cookies to keep you logged in. Not to take you apart and sell the pieces. That's pretty much the whole policy.
